No matter if you require a formal sit down dinner or an opportunity to dance the night away with live music, we will ensure that all your requirements are satisfied. We can accommodate larger numbers by using our permanent marquee adjoining Samuels Summit Venue. With 5m x 4m removable staging, we can set the space to suit most occasions, from live bands to elevated wedding tables or a presentation stage and we can also provide accommodation for up to 50 people utilising both of our beautiful historic venues. Our newly renovated and freshly decorated space awaits you…
For those who want to get the most out of the time, we will fully cater for you from our extensive buffet or set menu options (just ask us!) or you may prefer to stroll next door to our sunny verandah or Restaurant and order from the á la carte or “pub grub” menus. If you need inspiration; just glance out at views of the Southern Alps or step out to the outdoor area with newly landscaped gardens and take in the clean country air..
There are many options for your ceremony – helicopter to nearby glaciers or mountains, scenic reserves or the magnificent Rakaia Gorge are just a few suggestions. We cater for weddings of up to 120 guests, provide full bar and extend the weather proof area by utilising our marquee in the adjoining outdoor area. If you are just in the early planning stages, come and see us for more ideas – as true locals we have plenty!

Have more friends than you thought? We have plenty of crockery and cutlery, just give us a bell. Ever wanted to try your hand at the famous kiwi spit roast? Sweet, pick her up and give it a go. This absolute beauty – a 3m x 6m Catering Caravan boasts a 2m x 6 m awning in addition to side and rear service windows.
Gas cooking: deep fryers, flat grill, oven & cook top.
Power: lighting and refrigeration – stand up fridge and stand up freezer.
Hot and cold running water
100 litres fresh water and 100 litres base water.
But enough of the facts … the ‘caravan of courage’ has been cooking up everything from hot dogs and hot chips to gourmet burgers and whitebait patties for the last 6 years. You may have spotted us at events including the Methven Races, World Ploughing Competition, Hot Rods, Methven Rodeo, Methven A&P Show, Pudding Hill’s Sky Diving Boogie or Rhythm and Alps – so think of us for your next fundraiser or event!
